College Golf 101 is an annual program for golfers ages 13–16 and their families who want to learn more about college golf and the recruiting process.
What We’ll Cover
1. Understanding NCAA Golf
Learn about the different levels of college golf, what coaches look for, scholarships and financial aid, and the role academics play in recruiting.
2. RESEARCHING SCHOOLS
Learn how to research college golf programs, understand where your scores fit, compare schools and start building a realistic list of programs to explore.
3. CONTACTING COACHES
Learn when and how to reach out to coaches, what information to include, how recruiting timelines work, and what you can start doing now to prepare.
College golf recruiting doesn’t have to be confusing. We give young golfers and their families the information they need to understand their options and get started.
What Recruiting Support Looks Like
Research has found that some women’s college golf programs have scholarship dollars left unused, particularly when programs struggle to find the right recruits.
A 2019 study of NCAA Division I and Division II women’s golf programs estimated that approximately 5–9% of available women’s golf scholarship dollars were unused at the time of the survey.
